Suppliers
ACCIONA Infrastructure requires its suppliers to comply with the principles of the Global Compact and with the Law on Equality.
As an essential condition for the award of a contract or order, ACCIONA Infrastructures requires its national and international suppliers to comply with the ten principles of the United Nations Global Compact. In addition, using a special clause in the contracts, it requires suppliers to compy with the Law of Equality.
Thus, it encourages the agreement of contracts with suppliers that support good social, environmental and ethical practices, with business models and management practices consistent with the contents of the ACCIONA Code of Conduct.
At ACCIONA Infrastructure (construction) the number of orders or contracts issued came to 40,138 and the total number of suppliers contracted amounted to 8,351 in 2007. In addition, 3,168 suppliers have been assessed. Thus, 37.94% of suppliers and 13.51% of contracts invoicing 3,000 euros or more have been audited according to criteria relating to respect for the environment, the prevention of occupational hazards, administrative obligations and quality. This implies that 21.73% of suppliers have been audited in accordance with any of the criteria.
